Potatoes 'Red Scarlett' / 'Red Scarlet'

A beautiful, red-skinned potato of Dutch origin, which is early harvestable with a remarkably good yield. The cooking quality (AB) is slightly floury, or rather firm. EARLY VARIETY.
An early variety mainly means that it grows quickly and is therefore harvestable early. The planting time is approximately the same as later varieties (April). However, to achieve an extra early harvest, these varieties are often planted earlier (mid-March with protection from foil or even from January under glass). Early varieties are less susceptible to the feared potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Although the epidemic is occurring earlier and earlier: plant widely and fertilize with potash. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm, we recommend maintaining 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
