A mixture of fast-growing, nitrogen-fixing or otherwise beneficial green manures, can still be sown late. Balanced composition of at least 5 species. After 6-8 weeks, dig in or allow to die off.

To prevent your valuable soil from becoming depleted, it is wise to occasionally leave the soil fallow. During such a period, green manuring is ideal: it adds nutrients to the soil through often present nitrogen fixation; it suppresses weed growth, promotes bacterial life, provides humus and in some cases works against harmful nematodes.

Denominations:
Dutch: Mengsel Groenbemesters
