What is special about this variety is that it is resistant to the beet cyst nematode, which means that its cultivation also frees the field from many existing nematodes. Very good weed suppression for all soil types, loosens heavy soil, and provides good ground cover. Mow before digging in: there is no regrowth! Very popular in the sprout and microgreen category due to its fresh, spicy taste. Of course, the seeds can be pressed into mustard.
To avoid depleting your valuable soil, it is wise to leave the land fallow occasionally. During such a period, green manure is ideal: it introduces nutrients into the soil through often present nitrogen fixation; it suppresses weed growth, promotes bacterial life, provides humus, and in some cases, works against harmful nematodes.
