An annual, deep-rooting plant, 50 cm high. The flower color is lilac-blue. Sow from March-June; give them at least 2 months of growth. Cultivation on sand is preferred. Lupin is able to bind nitrogen from the air and fix nitrogen in the soil.
To avoid depleting your valuable soil, it is wise to occasionally leave the soil fallow. During such a period, green manure is ideal: it provides nutrients to the soil through often present nitrogen fixation; it suppresses weed growth, promotes bacterial life, provides humus, and in some cases, works against harmful nematodes.
