In agriculture, this crop is grown for its oil, which is found in the seeds. The crop has a sunny appearance with its bright yellow flowers. Nice for brightening up a corner, sow in autumn, flowers at the beginning of summer, and in late summer the crop can be added to the compost heap. In winter, the plant develops good foliage, which prevents erosion and nutrient leaching. 100 g for 100 m².
To avoid depleting your valuable soil, it is wise to leave the ground fallow occasionally. During such a period, green manure is ideal: it adds nutrients to the soil through often-present nitrogen fixation; it suppresses weed growth, promotes bacterial life, provides humus, and in some cases, works against harmful nematodes.
