An ideal, ground-covering and perennial clover. Suitable, for example, as underplanting for larger plants that need nitrogen, such as leafy vegetables and fruits. This legume is capable of binding nitrogen from the air and storing it in its roots. Other plants therefore also benefit from this nitrogen. The warm-yellow flowering clover is quite walkable and sows and grows into a carpet. We cannot purchase this variety cheaply, hence the small quantity per sachet; the variety has enough vigor to establish itself quickly. The leaf pulp is hemostatic and promotes clotting.
To avoid depleting your valuable soil, it is wise to leave the ground fallow occasionally. During such a period, green manure is ideal: it introduces nutrients into the soil through often present nitrogen fixation; it suppresses weed growth, promotes bacterial life, provides humus, and in some cases, works against harmful nematodes.
