Leaf Cabbage & Leaf Turnip 'Nitrafix'

  • Product number: 390136
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Brassica napus + rapa

This fast-growing green manure is a mix of Forage Rape and Leafy Turnip.
An ideal green manure because the plants grow fast and root deeply. They are late-flowering, fairly frost-resistant and clubroot-resistant. For livestock feed (large and small livestock), do not let them grow too large; they find young leaves very tasty! The leaves are, of course, also suitable for human consumption: slightly spicy! Mowing in spring and composting is a convenient option for a small garden.
Information for farmers:
Nitrafix is a mixture of forage kale and forage rape and is very suitable for increasing organic matter and for nitrogen fixation. Forage kale is one of the crops on the Fertiliser Decree list and is particularly suitable for sowing after maize. This mixture is CAP-ready and thus meets the greening requirements (EA) in the new Common Agricultural Policy. Nitrafix ensures high nitrogen fixation and utilisation due to a relatively high C/N ratio. The crop absorbs a lot of nitrogen and then decomposes slowly, releasing the nitrogen gradually for the main crop.
100 g is for 100 m²

To avoid depleting your valuable soil, it is wise to let it lie fallow occasionally. During such a period, green manure is ideal: it suppresses weed growth, promotes bacterial life, provides humus, and in some cases, works against harmful nematodes.
