Native Americans ("Indians") were already aware of the fever-suppressing effect of this beautiful medicinal herb. Extracts from this plant are still used in phytotherapy. There are even strong indications of its effectiveness against malaria! The plants grow to about 1 m high, and white flower heads bloom above the abundant (cruciformly arranged) foliage. Butterflies love it. Give the plant a moist location!
