Giant Fennel

  • Product number: 367005
  • Origin: Mediterranean region
  • Latin: Ferula communis

This species (strongly resembling fennel) can grow up to 4 meters tall! They prefer full sun in well-drained soil and usually bloom in their 2nd or 3rd year with large, soft yellow umbels on very thick stems. The leaves are edible (in small quantities) and mildly aromatic. This relative of Fennel and Carrots is therefore primarily popular as an ornamental plant.
