Besides the flower color and leaf scent, the plant does resemble sage. When bruised, the leaves smell of garlic! The large clusters of lemon-yellow labiate flowers have a unique shape; try sowing them! The medicinal properties of this plant are mainly in the areas of blood purification and mucous membrane healing. It is a welcome wild plant in the Southern Netherlands and Eastern Belgium, growing on dry sandy or clay soils.
