A particularly tasty herb, cultivated as an annual in our region. Its leaves are finely feathered (resembling dill in appearance), and the plant grows into a full bush 25-30 cm high. The leaves have a sweet taste with a strong liquorice and anise flavour, but the aroma of tarragon is also clearly present. The fine, soft leaves can be chewed fresh and are a beautiful and tasty addition to drinks, (liquorice) tea, and foods such as fish and game. They are also delicious as an addition to sweet dishes like ice cream, desserts, and pastries.
The bloom is small but charming, bright white with a yellow heart, and begins in late summer. Removing these flowers encourages the plant to produce leaves for longer, but they are also edible!
