A very rare plant in the Netherlands. For your garden, a striking menthol-scented plant. The pink labiate flowers are arranged in spheres. The spheres or whorls are stacked along the stem, reaching 60 cm in height. Make a delicious tea from it or mix (sparingly) into salads. Do not use during pregnancy or with liver or kidney failure.
All mint varieties grow in sun or shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense color, scent, and flavor develop. Each variety goes through 2 growth stages: in spring, there's an upward growth spurt before flowering. After that, horizontally (vigorously) growing runners emerge, which develop into new plants in a different location. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
