This delightful herb originated from crosses with Origanum rotundifolium, resulting in a very attractive plant that can be grown from seed. The leaf tips of the compact stems turn pink, and blue flowers peek out from the leaf axils. Plant them in a hanging pot or let them trail along the ground. Such a plant is almost too beautiful to eat, but many a chef will want to reward a beautiful appearance with a prominent place on the plate...! Oregano provides the indispensable, aromatic 'finishing touch' for Italian dishes!
