This fascinating shrub or small tree grows in India and Pakistan. The leaves are bipinnate and finely structured. Multipurpose: the young fruits are eaten as yardlong beans, young leaves, growing tips and flowers can be eaten raw in salads or added to soups and sauces, roasted seeds have a delicious, nutty flavor and are oily. The root bark is spicy and peppery and is used as a spice. The list is actually even longer; in short, an ideal tree for the Third World and interesting to get acquainted with here! Here it is therefore a houseplant or container plant (outdoors in summer). Germination is spread over a longer period.
