Indigo bush, American

  • Product number: 346495
  • Origin: North America
  • Latin: Amorpha fruticosa

Dye plant. In North America, this beautiful shrub grows up to 6m tall and spreads widely, but in our climate, the plant will behave more modestly (2-3m) and can be pruned. The sturdy branches are woolly, and the young shoots are even hairy. First and foremost, the elegant, finely feathered leaves stand out. In summer, thin, long clusters of deep purple flowers appear. These are what the famous indigo dye is made from. A shrub that you can easily incorporate into your garden as an ornamental plant, give it light shade.
