An easy-to-grow creeper, displaying its round, lobed leaves in summer and winter. The trumpet-shaped, small flowers appear in clusters in summer. The plant grows both in the sun and in the shade, as long as the soil is moist and moisture-retentive.
The young leaves are a nice addition, whether raw, in soup or in a stir-fry, due to their spicy and aromatic bitterness. Ground Ivy is also a flavorful addition (both fresh and dried) to herbal tea. And what about adding it (besides or instead of) hops in beer brewing?
Many medicinal applications are known: colds, wound care, eye infections and much more; consult specialized books and websites for details!
