A vigorous grower that can easily cover a hedge with its maple-like leaves and white flowers, which develop into (first red, then purple) berries. The plant is poisonous (but not for birds) and is widely recommended in traditional homeopathy. Expert use is, of course, a prerequisite, so be well-informed! An enlarged root forms underground. Cultivating it in a large pot is a good option to prevent it from spreading.
