Originating from Southern Europe, this beautiful, very hardy plant has naturalized in various places in our wild spaces: making it a 'stinze plant'. It has elegantly feathered leaves topped with clusters of white, pink, or blue labiate flowers. Ideal for an informal or wild garden. "Galega" is Greek for "to bring forth milk". As long as the plant is not in bloom, it stimulates milk production in nursing mothers and also in animals. Galega has been used since ancient times, also for lowering blood sugar levels and promoting digestion and fluid excretion. Please note: during and after flowering, the plant becomes unsuitable and even toxic!
