Sowing nettles? Who'd have thought! Due to the increasing demand for this versatile plant, I have studied all its applications: not insignificant... The young leaves can be eaten like spinach or in soup. Cooking or heating nullifies the stinging effect. Medicinal: blood-purifying, haemostatic, diuretic, anti-allergenic, and very nutritious.
This annual nettle is most commonly used in professional cultivation because it does not form a perennial root system. The plant also remains lower (50 cm) but quickly forms seeds, so keep an eye on them... the leaves "sting" even more than the Great Nettle, so wear gloves when harvesting!
