A true scion of the mint family. (English = Mint, Dutch = Munt) The advantage of this drought-resistant species is that it doesn't spread aggressively and is still very winter hardy. The leaves have a wonderful fresh minty scent, making them perfect for a delicious tea! The almost white flowers are very popular with butterflies and bees. Height 60-100 cm.
All mint varieties grow in the sun or in the shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense color, scent, and flavor are achieved. Each variety goes through two growth stages: in spring, there's an upward growth spurt before flowering. After that, horizontally (vigorously) growing runners emerge, which develop into new plants in other locations. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
