Classical writers were already aware of the effects of this child-friendly medicinal herb. The fully-grown roots are used. These contain camphor, bitter substances, inulin, pectin, resin, mucilage, and essential oils. Effective against, among other things: stomach disorders, bronchitis, cough, bacterial diseases, stress, itching (external), and infections. Diabetics use the sweetener as a sugar substitute. Versatile! The yellow-flowering plant grows 100-150cm high and has a substantial leaf base.
