An ideal plant for the “wild” edible garden enthusiast: this plant is ornamental, grows very easily as a ground cover, self-seeds every year, tolerates and loves shade (although it tolerates sun well in combination with moisture) and... can be harvested in winter. The leaves taste delicious in salad or briefly cooked and the flavor is reminiscent of beetroot cress. After winter, the plants surprise you with graceful, light pink flowers from spring to late summer. The species name sibirica rightly speaks of very good frost resistance. Ants help with the self-seeding: the seed contains an elaiosome. Cultivation in pots is also very successful!
WE BOUGHT THE SEEDS AT A QUITE HIGH PRICE, IN A FEW YEARS WE WILL HAVE ENOUGH FROM OUR OWN CROP AND THE PRICE WILL DECREASE.
