Sweet as sugar and white as snow! Its texture and exceptionally good taste have immediately made Silver Yamato a favorite in our assortment. This beautiful, historic variety, with all its silvery-white beauty, comes from the Nara Prefecture, a region around the ancient city of Nara in the middle of the main island of Honshu, Japan. The taste defies description: tasters have noted a hint of citrus, notes of sweet Asian Nashi pear, and an overall creamy bite, resulting in a taste experience not to be missed! This is an early-ripening watermelon, ideal for various growing climates. The 3-5 kg fruit is perfect as a delicious dessert after a (hearty) meal. Please note that historic varieties burst more easily than modern varieties, which are bred for long-distance transport. Japanese people, by the way, are generally much more careful with the transport of fruits and vegetables. (freely translated and supplemented from rareseeds.com)
