This oblong watermelon produces dark yellow to orange, firm flesh of very tasty, extra sweet quality! The fruits can weigh up to 10-15 kg each. Despite the somewhat longer growing period, this variety is quite suitable for our climate, although of course for cultivation in a greenhouse. This variety has been cultivated in the US since the 1950s and is the yellow-fleshed variant of the much older variety 'Mountain Sweet'. Watermelon plants also look beautiful due to their deeply incised leaves and beautifully veined fruits. Unripe fruits can ripen for a while indoors during winter and are edible in any case, sometimes more fresh than sweet...
