Lamb's Lettuce 'Verte de Cambrai'

  • Product number: 310250
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Valerianella locusta

What's tastier than a lamb's lettuce salad with a boiled egg in winter...? This old variety (probably from 1810) is extremely frost-resistant, doesn't yellow easily, and is highly mildew-resistant. The leaves are dark green and oval. Very densely sown lamb's lettuce, harvested young (when the cotyledon has "stretched"), is a delicacy and is called "BROEIVET" (forced fat).

Hardy vegetable with a high vitamin C content.
