Slovenian is a hardneck garlic (also known as "Hardneck") discovered in Slovenia in the 1980s. It's a reasonably productive variety (given a sunny summer) that produces about 7 large and easy-to-peel cloves per bulb. Slovenian has a rich, slightly smoky, earthy flavor with a hint of nutmeg and not too much heat.
How delicious can also be beautiful... (or vice versa). This tasty member of the garlic family grows with 1 or more curls in the stem, making it particularly decorative. Hardneck garlic is generally more robust in flavor than the so-called softneck varieties.
