This Creole deep purple garlic has a fine flavor, is quite hot, and stores well. This garlic probably came to Morocco from Spain, which could have happened at any time in the last two thousand years, as the Umayyads defeated the Visigoths as early as the 1st century AD. The variety was collected in 2009 at an open-air market in the seaside town of Essaouira, Morocco. 'Moroccan' then ended up at Amyo Farms (New Mexico) where it stood out due to its large harvest and accessible flavor! Expect 9-12 cloves per bulb.
