At the foot of Italy's boot (Calabria) lies Tropea, a beautiful coastal town with a flourishing horticultural area in its hinterland. This is where the famous sweet red onion comes from, which we offer here. Recommended by a customer and, in our opinion, the sweetest (and delicious!) for eating raw in salads, but also fried, pickled, and stir-fried. Incidentally, these onions are also very tasty when harvested half-grown (=young). This is the variety with an elongated shape.
