The active plant breeder Reinhard Kraft has further developed and improved the Toma Verde variety into larger plants with a greater yield. Behold the 'Lady Ayreen'... The description of Toma Verde 297000 can be found below:
An expert and enthusiast writes online:
Toma Verde is our favorite Tomatillo variety for its early ripening and exceptional sweetness: it tastes like a cross between a lemon, a pineapple, and a tomato. This reliable, productive variety also produces larger fruits than many others, up to 5 cm in diameter. Under its papery husk, Toma Verde is deep, bright green. As it ripens, the green color fades to a less intense, somewhat soft green with an almost golden blush. To help manage Toma Verde's enthusiastic, slender, almost climbing growth, surround each plant with a wire cage or stake the plants with many poles. They develop into bushy, wide plants that can be 1 meter wide. We love Toma Verde in our Roasted Tomatillo Salsa Verde (you freeze that for use all winter in fajitas and quesadillas du jour). We also love to grill them quartered and brushed with extra virgin olive oil on skewers as a side dish for grilled steak or chicken. (Do not remove the husk until you are ready to use the fruit. Do not be surprised that once the husk is removed, the fruit may be sticky and need to be rinsed in cold water.)
At least 2 plants are needed for fruit set!

Nice problem-free crop, originally known in Mexican cuisine. Suitable for all kinds of stir-fries. Cultivation is easy: sow indoors early (March) and transplant outdoors in late May in a sheltered spot. The plants grow 1-1.5 m high and prefer some support; the yield is about 30-40 fruits per plant. There is no risk of disease. The harvest can be expected from September until the first frost. This annual plant should always be grown in pairs for pollination.
