This medium-sized, red beefsteak tomato yields a good harvest and is remarkably disease-resistant. The fruits usually weigh 100-200 grams, although specimens of 350 grams occur. The soft, fleshy texture and excellent taste - sufficiently sweet with a touch of acidity - combine in this rare variety with a firm skin, making it well-suited for storage.
If you often grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for example in a greenhouse, diseases can develop in the soil. Rootstocks are resistant to these, and grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. This tomato owes its name to the larger amount of flesh (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.
