The Englishman Stanley Jackson decided to grow the ideal tomato for "home growing." Disregarding all professional developments, he aimed for a thin skin and excellent taste (mainly because his wife Joan asked for it). It took him 20 years, and he used all kinds of favorite varieties from France, Spain, and Australia. The name he came up with speaks for itself. The heart shape is a coincidence, and the fact that the tomato is also grown in Buckingham Palace was not Stanley's initial intention! Between 1990 and 2000, this variety was ready and entirely to his liking!
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example, in a greenhouse? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to, making grafting advisable:
For grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. These tomatoes get their name from the larger amount of flesh (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.
