Funny name for a tomato... That's what you get when you cross 'German Red Strawberry' with 'Cherokee Purple' and the result is not as purple as the latter. The pink-red, medium-sized beefsteak tomatoes have a green collar, which ripens to a darker color later. Although the appearance is not surprising, the taste is: wonderfully sweet and full of aroma! The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. This tomato gets its name from the larger amount of flesh (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.
