This old Italian variety has an exaggerated (and therefore so elegant!) ribbed shape. Just like a miniature pumpkin... The fruits are medium-heavy (150g), fairly juicy and firm with a flavour that still makes Italians lyrical! Grow these beauties and enjoy them! This tomato is also known as "Casalino tomato" and is very popular in Italian dishes!
This Costoluta comes from the San Marino region.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example in a greenhouse? Then soil diseases can develop, to which rootstocks are resistant and for which grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As a helper, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. This tomato owes its name to the larger amount of pulp (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.
