Beefsteak Tomato 'Beefsteak of Marsha's Starfighter' / 'Marsh

  • Product number: 295187
  • Origin: Central America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, also known as L. esculentum

A wonderfully beautiful cultivar from the "Star Wars" line, developed by Marsha Eisenberg in Florida.
The medium-sized fruits, weighing 200-300g, are broadly ribbed with a slight tendency towards a heart shape. What stands out most is the color: when ripe, brownish-red with a beautiful blue coloration from the top, caused by healthy anthocyanin. The scent and taste are excellent: fruity with a robust aroma.

The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. This tomato owes its name to the larger amount of flesh (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.

Denominations:
Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, or also L. esculentum
Dutch: Vleestomaat
Also: Tomaat
English: Tomato, Beefsteaks Type
