Medium Tomato 'Yellow Out Red In'

  • Product number: 294200
  • Origin: Central America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, also known as L. esculentum

A fun collector's item! For a long time, the fruits remain warm yellow and in the final stage, they blush red. Inside, they quickly turn pinkish-red, creating a hilarious contrast. The medium-sized tomato fruits are fleshy in texture, deliciously soft in taste, and weigh 200 grams. The plants grow quite tall and need support.

Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for example, in a greenhouse (or mini-greenhouse)? Then diseases can develop in the soil against which rootstocks are resistant, and grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.

This group of tomatoes is a size between cherry tomato and beefsteak tomato: medium-sized, in other words. Each has its own unique character. The climbing varieties ripen later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or grow tunnel.

Sowing method: March-May indoors. Transplant into pots when 5 cm tall. Provide plenty of light and, from April, harden off outdoors in good weather. Do not plant outdoors before late May. Tomato plants use a lot of water. For this taller or (in a greenhouse) climbing type, the side shoots (suckers) should be removed regularly. Planting distance 60-80 cm.
