Medium-sized Tomato 'Téton de Vénus'

  • Product number: 293781
  • Origin: Central and South America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum

A tomato sweeter than this is almost impossible...! The prerequisite is a good summer; with sufficient sun, a flavor develops that encourages unrestrained snacking. The heart-shaped fruits have a nipple-shaped end, hence the name... The medium-sized fruits weigh 120-180 grams. There is hardly any watery juice inside, a lot of pulp, making them ideal for juices, soups, and sauces.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example in a greenhouse? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to, and therefore grafting is recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As a tool, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.

This group of tomatoes are a size between cherry tomato and beefsteak tomato: medium-sized. Each has its own unique character. The climbing varieties ripen somewhat later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or growing tunnel.

Names:
Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum

Sowing method: Sow: indoors from March-May. When 5 cm tall, transplant into pots. Place in a very bright location and, from April onwards, harden off outdoors in fine weather. Do not plant outdoors before the end of May. Tomato plants use a lot of water. With this taller or (in the greenhouse) climbing type, the side shoots (suckers) must be removed regularly. Planting distance 60-80 cm.
