These are the descendants of the Pedro hybrid, but sufficiently “de-hybridized” to be a reliable landrace. The hybrid’s excellent characteristics have been perfectly preserved! Pedro is suitable for greenhouses, but also grows well outdoors and needs some support. The yield is enormous; 25 kg of tomatoes per plant can easily occur! The fruits (100-150 g) have a fairly firm skin, which makes them keep well. Inside hides an excellent taste, nicely sweet, juicy and with sufficient aroma…
This group of tomatoes are of a size between cherry tomato and beefsteak tomato: medium-sized, in other words. Each has its own unique character. The climbing varieties ripen somewhat later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or growing tunnel.
