This variety was developed by Tom Wagner, like many varieties with the natural antioxidant anthocyanin (the blue colouring). It originated from a cross between OSU P20 x Green Zebra and resulted in beautiful warm yellow fruits (50-80 cm) with indigo-blue veins. The anthocyanin develops better the more sunlight shines on the fruits. The pleasant taste has a pleasant (and extra healthy) acidity. The plants have considerable vigour (especially in a greenhouse).
This group of tomatoes are of a size between cherry tomato and beefsteak tomato: medium size therefore. Each has its own unique character. The climbing varieties ripen somewhat later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse or polytunnel.
