Traditional, natural cross-breeding is currently producing a handful of highly resistant tomatoes. 'Mountain Magic' is one such very strong yet tasty, red tomato, which is resistant to fungi such as potato blight (Phytophthora, the early form, but also resistant to the Pink6 and Blue13 strains due to the cross-bred Ph-2 and Ph-3 genes), wilt disease (Verticillium), and Fusarium. Its sweet, aromatic taste makes this variety extra popular; in professional cultivation, it is called a vine tomato with the taste of Tasty Tom. The taste can be compared to the very popular old Brandywine variety; the round fruits are not prone to cracking and weigh approximately 50-80 grams each.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for example in a greenhouse or mini-greenhouse? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to, and therefore grafting is recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, you use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
This group of tomatoes is intermediate in size between cherry tomatoes and beefsteak tomatoes: medium-sized, in other words. Each has a unique character. The climbing varieties ripen later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or grow tunnel.
