The combination of shape and color is unique: the fruits (6-10 cm long) are pear-shaped, usually with a point at the end, and the color is yellow with green stripes and spots. The taste is delightfully sweet and fresh; this tomato consistently scores high in taste tests! The trusses of fruit are broad and sometimes need support. This variety is named after the American "green writer," journalist, and lecturer, and is a serendipitous mutant from 'Green Zebra,' further developed by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms.
If you often grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for example in a greenhouse (or mini-greenhouse), diseases can develop in the soil. Rootstocks are resistant to these diseases, and grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As a helpful tool, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
This group of tomatoes is a size between cherry tomato and beefsteak tomato: medium-sized. Each has its own unique character. Climbing varieties ripen somewhat later than compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or growing tunnel.
