This Asian variety fruits very early, making it quite reliable in our climate. The plants remain compact, even quite dwarf-like: 50 cm high. I suspect they are also grown in Hokkaido, where it can also be cool and humid. Like most tomatoes from Asia, this one has both sweet and sour flavors, healthier than the very sweet new European varieties. The fruit shape varies from ribbed to perfectly round.
This group of tomatoes is intermediate in size between cherry tomatoes and beefsteak tomatoes: medium-sized, in other words. Each has its own unique character. The climbing varieties ripen somewhat later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or grow tunnel.
