The tomato with the golden eggs… Literally and figuratively, the promise is fulfilled: an abundance of beautiful, egg-shaped fruits, as large as a chicken egg (40 g), ripening from white-green to light yellow. Harvesting is very easy: the fruit detaches effortlessly when ripe. The taste of the firm flesh is surprisingly good: sweet and with a pleasant aroma. Cultivation in the open ground is successful in most years. The plant can be pruned and will then grow tall and manageable. In a pot, the side shoots also grow into fruit-bearing branches, requiring many stakes for support.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example in a greenhouse? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to, and thus grafting is recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
This group of tomatoes is a size between cherry tomato and beefsteak tomato: medium size. Each has its own unique character. The climbing varieties ripen somewhat later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or grow tunnel.
