Medium-sized Tomato 'Golden Dwarf Champion'

  • Product number: 293235
  • Origin: Central America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, also known as L. esculentum

Tasty tomato with narrow, drought-resistant leaves. The fruits are round and lemon-yellow with even lighter yellow flesh. Each fruit weighs 60-140 grams, making them a nice medium size. The plants are determinate, can grow quite wide, and reach a maximum height of 1.5 m. As early as 1898, this variety was ready for introduction by the old seed company W. Atlee Burpee, who received this tomato from a customer in 1896.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for example in a greenhouse or mini-greenhouse? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to. Grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As a grafting aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.

This group of tomatoes falls between cherry tomatoes and beefsteak tomatoes in size: medium-sized, in other words. Each has a unique character. The indeterminate varieties ripen later than the determinate varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or growing tunnel.
