ONE OF THE BEST WINTER STORAGE TOMATOES!
A Burpee introduction in 1979, Long-Keeper is a must for winter storage. It stays fresh for 6-12 weeks or longer and produces fruit in the greenhouse for fresh use in autumn and winter. The skin of these fruits is golden-orange-red when ripe. Use damaged or cracked tomatoes immediately. Store undamaged fruits at 18-20°C, ensuring they do not touch each other.
This group of tomatoes is intermediate in size between cherry tomatoes and beefsteak tomatoes: medium-sized, in other words. Each has its own unique character. The climbing varieties ripen later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or grow tunnel.
