Because San Marzano is one of the most popular Roma tomatoes, it is often improved upon. This F1 hybrid provides a combination of earlier harvest, maximum quality retention, and good disease resistance. The elongated fruits are packed with firm flesh, ideal for sauces, delicious in a wok, and for enthusiasts, a tasty salad tomato. Disease resistance is sought as much as possible in preventing blossom end rot in the fruits and viral diseases. To what extent this professional variety resists Phytophthora, I do not know: try it out... The plants are climbing and yield an enormous harvest of 140g fruits.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example in a greenhouse (or mini-greenhouse)? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to, and thus grafting is recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As a helper, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
Elongated, sweet tomatoes with plenty of flesh. In subtropical countries, this is the type used for processing into juices, soups, ketchup, sun-dried tomatoes, etc. Tip: freeze Roma tomatoes, skin and all.
