This small version of the Oxheart or Coeur de Boeuf is just as tasty and suitable for cooking as the large version! The fruits are more dark pink than red. Internally, the fruits are also dark pink. There are few seeds, a lot of pulp, and not much juice. Ideal for a hearty sauce or soup. The fruits are heart-shaped, hence the name. The growth habit is similar to its big brother Coeur de Boeuf, the leaves hang down, can sometimes be variegated and curl up. Nothing alarming, that's normal. The plant grows best in a greenhouse or tunnel and needs support from a wire or stake at an early stage.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example in a greenhouse? Then soil-borne diseases can develop, against which rootstocks are resistant, and therefore grafting is recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.
Elongated, sweet tomatoes with a lot of flesh. In subtropical countries, this type is used for processing into juices, soups, ketchup, dried tomatoes, etc. Tip: freeze Roma tomatoes with skin and all.
