Roma Tomato 'Carnica'

  • Product number: 291941
  • Origin: South America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, or also L. esculentum

These mini-Roma tomatoes are 5-8 cm long and end in a point, sometimes with a constriction halfway, a very funny little tomato! These tomatoes are ideal for sauces, but due to their small size, they are of course extremely suitable for drying! The strong and assertive taste easily equals that of San Marzano. In the greenhouse, you will be surprised by their vigour and production; some years, the plants grow up to 7 m long!

Elongated, sweet tomatoes with lots of flesh. In subtropical countries, this is the variety used for processing into juices, soups, ketchup, dried tomatoes, etc. Tip: freeze Roma tomatoes whole, with their skin on.

Names:
Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, or also L. esculentum
Dutch: Roma Tomaat
Also: Italian plum tomato
English: Tomato, Plum Type
