Cherry tomato 'Zebrino' F1 / 'Tiger' F1

  • Product number: 291910
  • Origin: South America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, also known as L. esculentum

A feast for the eyes and a treat for the tongue... (what a cliché, but so true!) The small, round, dark red fruits are elegantly decorated with greenish-purple stripes. Sweet, fresh, the healthiest candy for children and a healthy snack for your party!
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for example in a greenhouse? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to, and grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.

The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are named accordingly. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.

Names:
Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, or also L. esculentum
Dutch: Kerstomaat (Cherry Tomato)
Also known as: Tiger F1
English: Cherry Tomato

Sowing method: Sow indoors from March to May. Transplant into pots when seedlings are 5 cm tall. Provide plenty of light and, from April onwards, harden off outdoors in good weather. Do not plant out before late May. Tomato plants require a lot of water. For this tall or (in a greenhouse) climbing type, side shoots (suckers) must be removed regularly. Planting distance 60-80 cm.
