This variety originated from a cross between 'Black Cherry' x 'Golden Dwarf Champion' produced as part of the "Dwarf Tomato Project". Dwarf tomatoes are ideal for growing in pots, allowing even more hobby growers to cultivate this delicious fruit vegetable. The result is medium-sized, dark red with purple ping-pong tomatoes averaging 50 grams. The 1-meter tall, full plants yield a large harvest of fruits with a soft texture and fine flavor, sufficiently sweet, with plenty of aroma.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are accordingly given a slightly different name. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet; a few have a sweet-sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, perhaps that is why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
