Cherry tomato 'Rosii Marunte'

  • Product number: 291719
  • Origin: South America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, also known as L. esculentum

This Romanian cherry tomato is remarkably resistant to Phytophthora (late blight) and can therefore be grown very well outdoors. The plants have considerable vigor, so keep this in mind, especially in the greenhouse; allowing 3 main shoots to grow is a good option. The 2 cm fruits appear in large numbers on the plant; they have a fine flavor balance between sweet and sour, very aromatic! The tomatoes stay good on the truss for a long time, so you can harvest fully ripe trusses! In the greenhouse, you can continue harvesting well into autumn.

The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are accordingly given a slightly different name. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.

Do not plant out before late May. Tomato plants require a lot of water. For this taller or (greenhouse) climbing type, side shoots (suckers) must be regularly removed. Plant spacing 60-80 cm.
